My name is Jan Erik and I live outside of Oslo, in a rural area. Last couple of years we have been rescuing the few buildings left on the farm, renovated the main house and fixed the garden.

Next step for us will be to produce more food, our goal is to be self-sufficient. One thing is to produce a lot of food, another thing is to preserve it.

Definitely need to learn some preservation techniques too.

I am a strong believer in infrastructure as code, not only for cloud but also bare metal/private cloud.

For some companies I think it will be wrong to go all the way cloud native. First step should be to get control over your local computer resources and start to manage them with code.

Then start to move your infrastructure out in the cloud, and apply your services. And if your company has an important role in society, I find it reckless to go all cloud. You should maintain a local system for difficult times.

I think it is also important to differentiate between the tools of the trade, I don’t find configuration management tools good at deploying infrastructure, just as IaC tools are not good for all configuration management jobs.
